About
Stephanie Mobbs Deady is a Boston-based artist whose work is shaped by both New England and her Southern roots in North Carolina. Inspired by the stories we carry with us, her paintings often begin with a favorite place, a beloved pet, a family memory, or an object that holds special meaning.
Growing up between Massachusetts and North Carolina gave Stephanie an appreciation for two very different landscapes, traditions, and ways of life. She continues to find inspiration in the people, places, and quiet moments that make both regions feel like home.
One of Stephanie's earliest creative influences was her brother, Rick Mobbs, a movie set artist in Wilmington, North Carolina. Watching him transform ordinary spaces into believable worlds sparked her own fascination with storytelling through art.
Stephanie grew up in a large, spirited family where creativity was simply part of everyday life. Surrounded by storytellers, generous hearts, more than a few colorful personalities, and people who believed in helping others, she learned to appreciate the beauty found in ordinary moments and the connections that make every story unique.
Whether creating a commissioned painting or exploring one of her own collections, Stephanie is drawn to the stories behind the subject. She believes the best paintings don't simply decorate a space. They remind us of who we are, where we've been, and the people and places we love.
Inspired by her mind, Inspired by the world around her, she believes inspiration is everywhere. You just have to look a little closer.
